Hollyhocks settle in odd places and virtually grow out of the pavement in the neighbouring village but never as prolific as that in my garden. Am I perhaps treating them too well?
They are biennials which (are supposed to) self-seed prolifically like foxgloves and verbascum and love the sunshine.
I was given some by a friend she grew from seed. This one look like Alcea rosea ‘Crème de Cassis’. I do hope so as I love the name!
